This includes:  aluminum oxide, crushed glass, garnet, steel shot, steel grit, walnut shells, soda, and plastic media.

There are other methods than soda blasting.
Many people think soda blasting is the best method for automotive sheet metal blasting.   While it is true that soda blasting will not warp or damage glass and chrome, it does not establish an anchor pattern for new paint.  It does not remove rust—it only neutralizes it. 

People tend to soda blast cars completely assembled, but you can never completely remove any media from gaps or any openings on the body.  Soda will get into critical moving parts on machined surfaces, creating problems later.

MOST IMPORTANT, it is the combination of the media, the pressure, distance from nozzle to work piece, nozzle lateral movement speed and operator knowledge of blasting sheet metal and automotive bodies that eliminates the chance of warping the metal.
